This privacy policy is meant to disclose the ways that Gabrielle Daniels (“I”, “my”, “her”), owner and founder of Your Doula Cares (“us”, “we”, or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and manages the data collected through her website(s) (collectively, the “Resources”): https://www.yourdoulacares.com
The privacy concerns of my clients and visitors are important to me, and it is my goal to respect and properly manage any personal data you may share when you use our Resources and indicate any preferences associated with that data.
I use your data to answer your questions, provide information, and improve the Resources that I provide to help you and other families. By using the Resources, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. How Does Your Doula Cares Collect Information?
When you complete a form or conduct a transaction through our Resources, as part of the process, we will collect the Personal Data you share. Personal Data may also be collected if you use our Resources’ Chat Feature, as well.
Our Resources are hosted on the Wix.com platform, which provides us with the ability to share content, connect with visitors, advertise our services, and manage products we may offer. When you share your Personal Data with us, it may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and general backend Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall for added security. As the data is also shared with Gabrielle via her business email address of Gabrielle at yourdoulacares dot com, she also agrees to protect the privacy of your personal data as described in this privacy policy. Your consent to these processes of data collection and transfer described in this Privacy Policy is provided by your submission of Personal Data and is representative of your agreement to these processes.
Personal Data may also be shared with Gabrielle via her email contact at Gabrielle at yourdoulacares dot com. Gabrielle maintains this Personal Data only in reference to responding to inquiries and does not share this data in ways that can be used to identify you with third parties without your consent.
For payments, our Resources may direct you to PayPal.com. You can view PayPal’s privacy policy at https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full. If a payment is made through our Resources using a direct payment gateway offered by Wix.com, the payment gateway will adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our Resources and its service providers.
We may also collect other information on how our Resources are accessed and used in the form of Usage Data. This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; email address; any passwords generated through the Resources; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, methods used to browse away from the page, and other diagnostic data.
Our Resources will retain your Personal Data limited to the amount of time necessary to carry out the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, which also extend to retention in order to uphold our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. Usage data will similarly be retained limited only to the amount of time needed for analysis purposes, or longer if we are legally obligated to do so.
Why Does Your Doula Cares Collect Personal and Usage Data?
We may use your Personal Data to contact you with e-communications, chat responses, educational resources, or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may receive responses to your inquiries via email or telephone. We will generally use Usage Data to improve the analytics of Resources to ensure a positive visitor experience and promote visitor interaction with our Resources.

Personal Data shared in testimonials is therefore voluntary and appreciated as a valuable resource to other families who use our Resources, and Gabrielle honors each family’s right to privacy and to be represented as they would most prefer.

How Does Your Doula Cares Adhere to Privacy Protection Laws such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Privacy Act?
As of May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) went into effect to protect the right to privacy and the protection of Personal Data for European Union (EU) citizens. While our Resources are based in the United States, we seek to be compliant with GDPR for all visitors.
As the owner of www.yourdoulacares.com, Gabrielle is considered the Data Controller of our Resources’ visitor data. As Data Controller, Gabrielle is responsible for choosing what data is collected from our Resources and how it will be handled. Wix.com is our Resources’ Data Processor for our visitor data. Wix.com processes visitor data based on the Data Controller’s instructions and on our behalf, not for the benefit of Wix.com. As the Data Processor, Wix is a global company that respects the laws of the jurisdictions it operates within to ensure an adequate level of protection. Wix can store the Resources’ site visitor data in data centers located in various jurisdictions, and Wix is very committed to data protection. As described above, our Resources may collect and process your Personal Data in order to respond to your inquiries, because you give us permission to do so by freely submitting it through our forms and Chat feature, for payment processing purposes, and to comply with necessary and applicable laws.
If as an EU citizen or other visitor to our Resources, you wish to be informed what Personal Data we have collected about you and if you want it to be removed from our records, please contact us using the contact info at the bottom of this policy. In certain circumstances, you have a right to access, update, rectify, object to the processing of, restrict, or delete the information you have shared through our Resources. You may request a copy of the data you have shared with us that we have collected from you, and you can withdraw consent wherein your consent has been implied or provided to utilize your Personal Data. Please contact us to make requests along these lines using the contact information at the bottom of this Privacy Policy, and we will follow up. Please note that we may need to verify your identity before we share said information for security purposes. While Gabrielle would surely appreciate the opportunity to do all she can by legal obligation to satisfy your requests regarding your Personal Data, if you have concerns about how your Personal Data is being handled, you can choose to file a complaint to a Data Protection Authority regarding your concern. Furthermore, effective January 1, 2005, California Civil Code 1798.83 has provided California residents with the right to request information related to their Personal Data that may have been collected by our Resources and to understand how their Personal Data may be disclosed to third-parties for direct marketing purposes. What Other Disclosures Should I Know about Your Doula Cares?
Our Resources may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our services to perform delegated tasks or to help us in data analytics. These third-party services only interact with your Personal Data to perform prescribed tasks on our behalf and are obligated to not disclose and protect your Personal Data’s security. As of the current update date of this Privacy Policy, we do not use remarketing services to advertise on third-party websites to you after you have visited our Resources. Our Resources do include links to third-party websites as references and outside resources. If you visit a third-party website by clicking on a link on our Resources, we encourage you to read their Privacy Policy, as well. Each site owner is responsible for their own content, privacy practices, and associated third-party services.
Our Resources are designed to provide services for women and families who are in seasons of preparing for pregnancy or who are experiencing pregnancy or postpartum. We do not intentionally collect Personal Data from anyone considered a minor (under the age of 18), and any parent or guardian that thinks their minor has shared Personal Data through our Resources is welcome to contact us with any concerns about parental consent. We are happy to remove information that may have been provided by a minor without parental consent.
As our Resources change, we will update our Privacy Policy to remain compliant. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. We will do our best to notify you of changes made to our Privacy Policy, provided that the Personal Data contact information we have for you is still in working order, or we will provide a notice on our Resources to indicate that our Privacy Policy has been updated, such as a change to the “updated date.” You are welcome to review and re-review this Privacy Policy at any time.
